Expanded Cinema

Expanded cinema has remained to be in a subdidiary role in various critical debates, despite the 1970s forward-thinkers' movement of making it take on a more substantial function in the teaching and theorization of film. As early as the start of the 1960s, expanded cinema has already begun weaving its threads of history, adding theorisations and discussions over the course of this time period. This fact debunks the recent assertions that expanded cinema has not been explored enough or has become a lost part of our history. Eugene Youngblood coined the expression "expanded cinema", which describes a unique type of presentation that utilizes mixed-media and multiple screens built around at least one film projectors. Lis Pendens

Lis Pendens is a Latin term that means "suit pending." It is used to refer to a property that is facing a lawsuit due to some kind of a legal matter, usually one that has got to do with the foreclosure process. Getting that Lis Pendens status creates several different scenarios not only for the owner of the property, but for the potential buyers as well. To the uninformed, this type of property would seem like a bad apple. It would tend to drive them away and look for other real estate to spend their money and efforts on. Being in this state could trigger uncertainty and hesitation from them as they would think this notice could cause various types of obstacles when applying for a mortgage loan, and such. Other buyers would also tend to believe that a property being this close to the end of the foreclosure process is not a very smart investment to have. Even though in general, it costs significantly less than other foreclosures, the thought of the possibility of an exte...

ABF to withdraw from National Master Freight Agreement

ABF Freight System, Inc. has expressed its intent to withdraw from the National Master Freight Agreement (NMFA) by the end of March. This development would affect the trucking industry in various ways, including the 7,000 members of the union. It would also make ABF's rival, YRC Worldwide Inc., the lone major less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier part of the pact. According to ABF President and CEO Roy M. Sagle, the trucking company, which is based in Fort Smith, Arkansas, wants to lay out a fresh and different labor agreement with the Teamsters Union. The letter, dated August 13 and addressed to president James P. Hoffa and the union's freight division president Gordon Sweeton, contained ABF's willingness to get into negotiations again soon after their collective bargaining pact expires on March 30. ABF's decision shows clearly what its stand is on the labor compacts of this particular industry, i.e. it believes the pact does not serve its best interest, economic-w...

Over the years, the image of cigars has evolved from just some rolled bundle of tobacco to a luxury and investment that people spend tons of money on. Even world-famous personalities like Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro and the late British statesman Winston Churchill had been seen in at least one occasion with a cigar in their hands. Cigars have become more than just a puff. The cigar market is made up of different brands manufactured by companies that rake in a sizeable amount every year. A couple of years ago, one could buy a vintage Romeo y Juliet 10-cigar box for £11,500, which was ten times its estimated cost (£2,225) and almost 300 times its original price (£70). C Gars managing director Mitchell Orchant says the premium cigars market is valued at several billions of pounds, with the United States and Europe leading the list of top consumers of the product. China is slowly climbing up, allocating £216 million annually, with a 30% growth every year. In Hong Kon...
